According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the state’s stay-at-home COVID-19 response has contributed to less traffic and fewer DWIs compared to a year ago. As of this past Monday, there were 13,816 DWI arrests so far in Minnesota compared with 16,881 arrests at this time last year.
Unfortunately, after the drop in March and April, arrests are climbing. As a result, the Minnesota State Patrol and traffic safety partners across Minnesota will have an Extra DWI Enforcement and Awareness Campaign Aug. 14-Sept. 7.
