Summary of the Redwood County Board meeting held February 16

The following is a summary of the County Board meeting held February 16, 2021:

 

  • Approved the revised agenda; February 2nd minutes; bills.
  • The Board recognized Jim Hildebrandt and Loren Gewerth for 30 years of service to Redwood County.
  • Sheriff Hanson reviewed the January 2021 jail population and STS Quarterly Report.
  • Adopted resolution accepting $1000.00 donation from Farmer’s Union Industries.
  • Adopted resolution accepting $100.00 donation from Lee and Jane Zitzmann.
  • Approved the purchase of a 2021 Chevy 2500HD Silverado from Marthalar Chevrolet for Emergency Management.
  • Approved the Auditor-Treasurer consent agenda items: Cash Balance Report; Investment Summary; Budget Reports; and January Disbursements.
  • Approved the 2020 Reserves and Designations Fund Balances and authorized Price and Knobloch to make any additional changes as necessary and to make transfer from the General Fund to any negative Ditch Fund balances to end 2020.
  • Approved the Depository Pledge Agreement with Bremer Bank.
  • Approved the Assessor’s Office Redwood County Policy on Sales Chasing.
  • Adopted Resolution of sponsorship for Local Road Improvement Project for the City of Lucan.
  • Approved the Cooperative Agreement between the City of Lucan and Redwood County to act as the fiscal agent for the LRIP Grant funds.
  • Approved to hire Schmidt Construction to crush 6,500 tons of aggregate material at a cost of $32,250.00.
  • Approved the purchase of a Caterpillar Motor Grader from Ziegler in the amount of $381,762.00 less trade in valued at $55,450.00.
  • The purchase of a walk and roll packer was tabled to the 3-2-21 board meeting.
  • Approved the purchase a Road Widener from Ziegler in the amount of $61,345.00.
  • Approved the purchase of a Schulte Windrower from Weltsch Equipment in the amount of $10,079.00.
  • Declared 29 Motorola radios excess equipment and authorized to sell the radios.
  • Declared a 1997 Caterpillar Motor Grader excess property and authorized to trade the property with the purchase of the new Caterpillar Motor Grader.
  • Approved Quote #281-4 in the amount of $9,485.78 for an additional four door system for the Government Services Building from Integrated Protection Systems.
  • Approved the Agreement for Professional Services with Integrated Protection Systems in the amount of $27,400.92.
  • Peterson presented an overview of activities in the Attorney’s Office for 2020.
  • Awarded the garbage service contract to R & E Sanitation in the amount of $166.40/month for 36 months.
  • Approved the Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Agreement with R & E Sanitation.
  • Approved the budget adjustment for the 2020 EDA Development Grant Program carryover in the amount of $7,846.00 into 2021.
  • Adopted resolution opposing MPCA’s MN Clean Car Rule without consulting the Legislature.
  • Authorized the A/T to issue a county credit card to County Engineer, Anthony Sellner.
  • Authorized the transfer of $188,005 from the Building Fund to the Road and Bridge Fund to pay for the salt shed.
  • Approved to hire Jody Becker-Bloemke as FT License Center Technician effective 2-22-21 at Grade 8, Step 1 at $16.91/hour on the AFSCME Salary Schedule.
  • Approved to hire Dominic Castellano as FT Deputy Sheriff effective March 1, 2021 at Deputy 1, Grade/Step 1 at $22.77/hour on the 2021 LELS Licensed Officers Salary Schedule.
  • Approved the promotion of Sandi Wertish from FT Account Technician to FT Assessment Technician effective 2-17-21 at Grade 10, Step 4 at $21.43/hour on the AFSCME Salary Schedule.
  • Approved to transfer Roxanna Gutierrez from PT Custody Officer to FT Custody Officer effective 2-17-21.
  • The Commissioners reported on meetings attended.
