Summary of the May 4 Redwood County Board meeting

The following is a summary of the County Board meeting held May 4, 2021:

Approved the agenda; April 20^th minutes; bills.
Entered into Joint Ditch Authority with Lyon County.
Appointed Wakefield to the Joint Ditch Authority for JD #15 to fill vacancy.
Appointed Wakefield to the Joint Ditch Authority for JD #14 for fill vacancy.
Appointed Wakefield as Joint Ditch Authority Chair for JD #14.
Ordered the Redetermination of Benefits for JD #14 to allow benefits to be equal with JD #15 due to a change in land values and changes in the watershed acres.
Appointed the Mark Behrends Group as viewers to redetermine the benefits for JD #14.
Reconvened into Regular session.
Approved Road and Bridge bills in the amount of $138,458.24.
Approved final payment of $33,922.88 to Duininck, Inc. for SAP 064-594-002 for the Vesta LRIP.
Awarded Contract 21-3 to Asphalt Surface Technologies in the amount of $711,403.93.
Authorized Board Chair and County Administrator to sign Contract 21-3 with Asphalt Surface Technologies.
Approved the amendment to the CR 57 Bridge Replacement Grant Agreement.
Adopted resolution accepting the donation of $1,000.00 from Nelson’s Salvage & Towing.
Denied request from Restorative Justice to host a workshop with Willka Hampi.
Set a public hearing on May 18, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. to satisfy the application requirement for the Community Development Block Grant-CV Broadband Development Project.
Approved the Sentence to Service Joint Powers Agreement with the State of MN.
Awarded the security fencing quote for the GSB to Elite Fencing in the amount of $15,450.00.
Acknowledged the resignation/retirement of Jim Hildebrandt effective June 30, 2021.
Acknowledged the resignation of David Hester effective May 3, 2021.
Approved the promotion of Mitch Zimmermann from FT Deputy Sheriff to FT Patrol Sergeant effective May 17, 2021.
Approved to hire Alex Esser as FT Deputy Sheriff on the Licensed Officers LELS Salary Schedule at Deputy Sheriff, Grade/Step 2 at $23.41/hour due to experience, effective May 17, 2021.
Chair Salfer appointed Mary Thomas to the Extension Committee, 5^th District.
