With the assistance of the local Department of Natural Resources (DNR) office, the City of Redwood Falls has developed a controlled archery hunt to be conducted in designated areas. The City of Redwood Falls has conducted an archery hunt every year since the program was developed in 2015.
A general description of the 2022 program includes the following:
  • Hunting will be by Special Permit only with a total of 20 hunters permitted.
  • The program will be conducted between Sept. 17th through December 31st, 2022.
  • It is required that the portable tree stands be supplied by the hunter. The specific hunting sites determined by the City will be assigned.
  • Participants must purchase a Regular Archery License. The City of Redwood Falls hunt is under a Special Deer Hunt “Double Earn a Buck” regulation. Up to three deer may be harvested, but two antlerless deer must be legally retrieved, tagged with a bonus tag, and secured before taking a buck, with a State tag. Once 40 deer total have been harvested, the City Hunt will end.  Hunting & trapping regulations | Minnesota DNR (state.mn.us)
