The city of Springfield is inviting the public to a day-long demonstration of the dangers of distracted driving. The Arrive Alive 2019 event is set for Springfield High School, on Sept. 18.
The city and its co-sponsors are sending a hard-hitting reminder to students of the dangers and consequences of unsafe driving behaviors — such as driving while distracted, driving at unsafe speeds, and not buckling up — during Springfield’s Homecoming Week.
Students, parents, guardians and fellow community members are all encouraged to attend an evening session with the speaker: Deb Hadley, of the Humble Hearts Foundation.
The event is set for Wednesday, Sept. 18, at 5 p.m., at the Springfield High School Performing Arts Center.
The Arrive Alive 2019 event is sponsored by The City of Springfield, Springfield Ambulance, Fire, and Police Departments, in partnership with Springfield Public Schools, Mayo Clinic Health System, Brown County, and the Minnesota State Patrol.
