Constance “Connie” Kelly, age 85, of Olivia died Monday, April, 29, 2019 at the Olivia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Private family services will be held. Memorials can be made to the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter of Kandiyohi County. Arrangements by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN.
Constance Joanne Kelly was born March 6, 1933 to Robert (Bob) & Bernice (Wederath) Dahl in Olivia, MN. She graduated from Olivia High School in 1952. She was married to Charles Kelly on March 14, 1953 and they had 3 sons; Chuck, Brad and Chris. Charles, Connie and family moved to Liberia, Africa when Chuck was about 10, where they lived in the jungle on a compound for 3 years before moving back to Olivia. When they returned home they brought their chimpanzee, Minnie, with them. What an experience for them all.
Connie was hard working and reliable giving her best as a waitress for many years, as a childcare provider and self-employed home helper to many local families. She also provided care for several elderly people in Bird Island and Olivia. Connie loved growing daylilies and all kinds of flowers, gardening and getting her hands in the dirt. She loved reading and collected many things including dolls, varied antiques and had a large button collection and was a member of the National Button Society. When Connie became a believer in Jesus, her life changed. She shared her love for Jesus with anyone who would listen. We are so thankful she is home now with her Lord.
Connie is survived by her three sons: Chuck (Sue) of Willmar, Brad (Kim) of West Virginia, and Chris (Penny) of Nashville, TN; her six grandchildren: Andrea Kelly of Willmar, Meagan (Nate) Green of Parma, OH; Bobby (Niki) Kelly of Tacoma, WA; Nicole Kelly of Anchorage, AK; Christina Dunn (Fiancé Brady) of Mankato and Jamie (Chris) Hamilton, of Franklin, TN; her 14 great-grandchildren and her sister Barbara (Delton) Duehn of Hector. Connie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Virginia.
Blessed Be Her Memory
