Bobby Elwell has been hired to become the interim principal at Redwood Valley Middle School beginning with the next school year.
Elwell’s employment was approved at a special Redwood Area School Board meeting last night. He is currently a middle school health teacher in the Redwood Valley Middle School. Elwell and his wife, Brenna (Larson) Elwell, live in Redwood Falls and are expecting their first child this fall. Brenna is currently a special education teacher at Reede Gray Elementary School.
Elwell grew up in the Seward, Nebraska area. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Health and Physical Education from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter in 2013. He then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University-Moorhead in 2016. Elwell will complete a Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Moorhead this spring.
Elwell previously taught health and physical education in the Windom Area School District for five years where he also served as the head football coach. He was very involved in several leadership positions with Professional Learning Communities and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support.
Elwell will officially take on his new duties on July 1.
