Carol Julene Renberg

Carol Julene Renberg age 89, of Springfield, MN died on April 10, 2019, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield, MN.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 15, 2019, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey.

Service will be held at the St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Comfrey on Monday at 11:00 am.

The clergy will be Father Andy Michels. Interment will be at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Comfrey, MN.

Carol Julene Renberg was born on March 12, 1930, to Sylvester and Elinor (Weicherding) Berg in Springfield, MN. On December 31, 1955, Carol was united in marriage to Russell Renberg at Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska. In December, Carol and Russ were blessed to celebrate 63 years of marriage. After graduation from Springfield Public Schools, Carol attended and graduated from Mankato State University. Carol started her teaching career at Comfrey, Tyler, Clements, Excelsior, and Pipestone. She then taught school at St. Paul’s Catholic School for 30 years and was principal for 7 years. Carol was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed her flower gardens and was a member of the Floratennial Garden Club. Carol was an avid reader and was a longtime patron of the Springfield Library. She also enjoyed baking, shopping, decorating for holidays, watching the birds that came to her feeders, and walking. Carol took great pride in her home and was known for her meticulous housekeeping. Time with her family, especially her grandchildren was greatly loved.

She is survived by her husband Russell of Springfield; children – Kay (Mike) Johnson of Willmar and Kari (Fred) Aten of Hutchinson; grandchildren – Becky (fiancé Mike Broll) Johnson, Dave (Sara) Johnson, and Sam Aten; great grandchildren Landon and Olivia Johnson; brothers Jim (Carol) Berg. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and sisters – Charlene Warmbier and Charlotte Berg.
