Teen facing charges of abusing girls in Olivia daycare

The Renville County Register says the license of a home-based daycare facility in Olivia has been suspended while the owner and her teenaged son are investigated for sexually abusing children at the facility.

The 16-year-old boy who lives in the home is accused of sexual contact with three girls, ages 4-to-8, from August of 2017 through January of this year. His mother, 45-year-old Peggy Uhlenkamp, is charged with failure to report and three counts of child neglect. Uhlenkamp and her son are scheduled to appear in Renville County District Court Monday morning.

The facility, called Rhyme and Reason Daycare, had been in operation since 2000 and has had its license suspended.
