Law Enforcement still searching for homicide suspect
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has named 28 year old Andrew Dikken of Granite Falls as a person of interest in a homicide and attempted homicide investigation and are still searching for him.
Neighbors have reported that the shooting victim was 26-year-old Kara Monson who works as a hair stylist in Montevideo, and has a four-year-old daughter. The little girl was not in the home at the time of the shooting.
A second gunshot victim, a 28-year-old Chris Panitzke is described as the victim's boyfriend, called police at 3:30 a.m. to report the attack.
He was taken to the hospital in Granite Falls in critical condition, and was later transferred by helicopter to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Panitzke is listed in stable condition.
"We responded to the call within minutes, at approximately the same time Mr. Dikken was just down the road at the Casey's General store," Chief Blue said.
Dikken may be driving a brown 1996 GMC Sierra pickup truck with an extended cab and a topper style cover on the bed. The truck may bear a Minnesota license plate with the numbers 032 GGL.
Several area residents said Dikken had been working in Alaska for several months prior to Monday's incident.
Police are asking anyone with information about Dikken's whereabouts to contact the Granite Falls Police Department, the Yellow Medicine Sheriff's Office, or 911.
