Farmfest Announces New Owner

The annual Farmfest show has been purchased by the American Farm Bureau Federation, as the Cygnus Business Media agriculture group has sold its’ IDEAg group, which holds the event.

This year’s Farmfest is Aug. 6 to 8 at the Gilfillan Estate, between Morgan and Redwood Falls.

The event draws some 35,000 attendees and features more than 600 exhibitors.

Farmfest show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 7, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 8. Preregistration admission is $6 per person. On-site admission is $12 for adults over age 19, and free for those younger. Parking is free. No pets (other than approved service animals) are allowed. Exhibits range from animal health, buildings, chemicals, communications, feed, fertilizer, financial services, equipment, loaders, parts, seed, tillage equipment, tractors and trucks.

The show includes numerous new product launches, big and small. 

One highlight for this year’s show is the Wicks Buildings Farmfest Center, a 60-by-144-foot red and white structure that will hold forums and activities formerly held in the event’s Forum Tent.
