A settlement was reached in a civil lawsuit involving the city of New Ulm and New Ulm Police Officer Matt Rasmussen.  The lawsuit is concerning a July 8th, 2011 accident, that claimed the lives of 82 year old Myra Meyer of New Ulm, and her 60 year old son, Brian Wichmann of Mankato.

The settlement negotiations were concluded about 6pm on Tuesday night.  The Details of the settlement cannot be released at this time, becuse the settlement has to be approved by the District Court.  According to a spokesperson for the Brown County Court Administrator Office; the case file will be reviewed on April 20th.  After this time, the details of the settlement should be made public.
