MN Sports Headlines for Wednesday, Feb. 22nd:


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try and get

back to .500 tonight when they take on the Utah Jazz at the Target

Center. The Wolves are coming off a 103-101 overtime loss at Denver

on Monday. This is the last game before the All-Star break for both

teams.

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings vice president Lester

Bagley says negotiations for a new stadium are ongoing. Team owner

Zygi Wilf met yesterday with Governor Mark Dayton and other

officials. Bagley says there are talks going on between the team,

the state and the city of Minneapolis.

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Vikings have reached a tentative deal

with the University of Minnesota on how much the team will pay to

use TCF stadium while a new Vikings stadium is being built. A

Vikings spokesman says other details still need to be worked out.

The Star Tribune reports the Vikings paid $1.7 million to play a

game at TCF Stadium in December 2010.

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Deshaun Thomas scored 19 points last night

as No. 8 Ohio State topped Illinois 83-67. William Buford added 17

points for the Buckeyes, who shot 65 percent from the field. Meyers

Leonard had 21 points for the Illini, who have lost six games in a

row.
