MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Feb. 21st:


DENVER (AP) - Arron Afflalo sank a tiebreaking runner with about

half a minute remaining in overtime to help the Denver Nuggets beat

the Minnesota Timberwolves last night 103-101. Afflalo finished

with 20 points and Al Harrington had a season-high 31 for the

Nuggets. Kevin Love had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Minnesota.

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings All-Pro guard Steve

Hutchinson knows it's possible he could be let go. Hutchinson tells

The Associated Press he realizes the salary cap situation but says

it's out of his control. The 35-year-old is scheduled to make

nearly $7 million next season.

 

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) - Matt Capps has a second chance to prove

himself a reliable closer for the Minnesota Twins. General manager

Terry Ryan re-signed Capps for the 2012 season after Joe Nathan

left for the Texas Rangers. Capps says he's determined to prove

that last season was a fluke.

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook scored

31 points apiece last night as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the

New Orleans Hornets 101-93. Serge Ibaka added nine points and 13

rebounds for the Thunder, who won their tenth straight at home.

Jarrett Jack led New Orleans with 18 points.
