MN Sports Headlines for Friday, Feb. 17th:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Evander Kane scored the game-winner in

the fourth round of a shootout last night as the Winnipeg Jets

topped the Minnesota Wild 4-3. Kane also had two goals in

regulation. Devin Setoguchi had his first two-goal game for the

Wild and Mikko Koivu added the other Minnesota goal.

HOUSTON (AP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try and make it

two in a row when they face the Rockets tonight in Houston. The

Wolves are coming off a 102-90 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on

Wednesday. Houston enters the game with a big 96-95 win over the

Oklahoma City Thunder.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings general manager

Rick Spielman says the team won't be bringing in Randy Moss. The

35-year-old receiver didn't play last season, but announced this

week he plans to come out of retirement. Spielman says Moss is a

great player, but the Vikings are focused on "trying to get a

young team."

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota will open the 2012 football season

earlier than planned. UNLV and the Mountain West Conference asked

the Gophers to move their game to August 30th, two days before it

was originally scheduled. The kickoff time has yet to be

determined.
