Charges were dropped against Mohamed Omar of Crystal, MN in Redwood County Court this week. Omar was being charged with motor vehicle theft and speeding from an incident on December 22nd. The County Attorney’s office dropped the charged stated that there is insufficient evident in the case and the victim is non-responsive.
Charges were also dismissed against Kenneth Gene Lyons. Lyons was charged with theft and the charges were dismissed last Wednesday. The court granted the dismissal as the county stated that the state could not prove all elements of the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
David Dunsmore, 46 of Belview pled guilty to violating an order for protection when he sent a text message. Dunsmore has been convicted of domestic assault on 3 different occasions.
Michelle Rainey pled guilty to a 2nd degree controlled substance charge. 38 year old Rainey of Redwood Falls was ordered to serve 6 months in jail and ordered to successfully complete drug court. A sentence of 108 month with the department of corrections was stayed. The charges stem from the sale of Oxycotin pills.
