5 charged in Lower Sioux stabbing incident



FIVE TO BE CHARGED IN LOWER SIOUX INCIDENT
 
Steven Collins, the Redwood County Attorney, has filed charged against four individuals involved in an incident which occurred on the Lower Sioux Indian Reservation on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
 
James Earl Toth of Cottonwood was charged with one count of Assault in the 2nd Degree (Dangerous Weapon) (felony).
 
Jennifer Kaye Blue of Granite Falls was charged with two counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree (Dangerous Wearpon) (felony).
 
Sheena Agnes Renee Crow of Morton was charged with Simple Robbery (felony) and Assault in the 5th Degree (misdemeanor).
 
Samantha Rae Hein of Morton was charged with Aid and Abet of Simple Robbery (felony), Assault in the 5th Degree (Misdemeanor) and Criminal Damage to Property (Misdemeanor).
 
These individuals appeared in Redwood County District Court on Wednesday afternoon and bail was set. The next hearing for all these individuals is Monday, February 13, 2012 at 9 a.m.
 
John Raymond Renville of Morton was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being released from the Hospital. Renville was flown to the cities for medical treatment that included surgery for a stab wound to the neck area. The Redwood County Attorney has yet to determine what charges will be filed against Renville.

Law enforcement is still putting together testimony and evidence in determining what happened early morning Tuesday but it is alleged that the assault occurred while some of the defendants were participating in some illegal activity.
