A portion of the Mississippi river that runs through Camp Ripley will be shown on an upcoming special on the National Geographic channel Feb. 12 at 7 p.m.
"The Mississippi river runs through eighteen miles of Camp Ripley and the river's banks are one of the few locations in the U.S. that has undeveloped Mississippi shoreline as well as pristine and natural habitat," said Army Maj. John Donovan, public affairs officer for Camp Ripley.
The show entitled Wild Mississippi airs Sunday, from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. The three hour miniseries will discuss how the river nurtures, destroys and how animals interact and struggle with each other. "Camp Ripley is proud to have been involved with this project and we invite the public to visit and learn more about us," said Donovan.
