MN Sports Headlines for Wednesday, Feb. 8th:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Double-doubles from Nikola Pekovic and

Michael Beasley led the Minnesota Timberwolves to an 86-84 victory

over the Sacramento Kings last night. Derrick Williams added 14

points as the Wolves won their third straight. Minnesota was

playing their first game without suspended forward Kevin Love.

 

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Rookie David Savard's first career goal

helped the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Minnesota Wild 3-1 last

night. The Blue Jackets also gave Todd Richards a win in his first

game as coach against his former team. Nate Prosser scored his

first career goal for the Wild.

 

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - First Kim Kardashian dumped her husband Kris

Humphries, now the Minnesota Twins are divorcing them both. The

team announced yesterday it will auction off a baseball autographed

by the couple last July. The proceeds will go to the Minnesota

Twins Community Fund and online biddings ends on Valentine's Day.

 

UNDATED (AP) - Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis says

his peers in the Big Ten are comfortable exploring a possible

four-team playoff for the national championship. The current BCS

title game pits the nation's top two teams based on poll and

computer rankings. Leaders of the Big Ten shot down a similar

playoff proposal in 2008.
