MN Sports Headlines for Monday, Feb. 6th:


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Alex Bentley's go-ahead three-pointer in the

final minute gave the No. 19 Penn State women a 68-65 win over

Minnesota yesterday. The Lady Lions trailed by 15 points in the

first half before rallying to end the game on an 8-2 run. Rachel

Banham led Minnesota in scoring with 14 points.

 

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Chip Armelin scored 15 points as Minnesota

topped Nebraska 69-61 yesterday. The Gophers used a 9-0 run in the

second half to break a tie and pull away from the Cornhuskers. Bo

Spencer had 18 points for Nebraska.

 

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Draymond Green's 14-point, 16-rebound

double-double led No. 9 Michigan State to a 64-54 victory over No.

23 Michigan yesterday. The Spartans ended a three-game losing

streak in the rivalry. Zack Novak led the Wolverines in scoring

with 14 points.

 

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Ahmad Bradshaw's hesitant touchdown in the

final minute gave the New York Giants a 21-17 Super Bowl win over

the New England Patriots last night. Bradshaw's touchdown run

capped off a nine-play, 88-yard drive. Giants quarterback Eli

Manning was named Super Bowl MVP for the second time in his career.
