MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Jan. 31st:

HOUSTON (AP) - Michael Beasley scored 34 points last night as

the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Rockets 120-108 in Rick

Adelman's return to Houston. Kevin Love added 29 points for the

Timberwolves, who put up 42 points in the third quarter. Kevin

Martin had 29 points for the Rockets after missing two games with

inflammation in his right heel.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Wild have recalled three

forwards from their minor league affiliate in Houston. Matt

Kassian, Jed Ortmeyer and Chad Rau were recalled yesterday to

replace injured forwards Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Guillaume

Latendresse and Mikko Koivu. Kassian and Ortmeyer have each played

in six games for the Wild this season.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The shootout seems here to stay after

seven seasons in the NHL. Commissioner Gary Bettman says league

research shows fan support of the tiebreaker between 70 percent and

80 percent. He says he's seen a "sensational" reaction from the

crowd at each shootout game he's attended.

AMES, Iowa (AP) - Iowa State star Royce White sank crucial free

throws in Saturday's upset victory over then-No. 5 Kansas. It was

especially nerve-racking for White, who has had an anxiety disorder

since childhood. The Minneapolis native says his anxiety is almost

a gift since it forces him on improving.
