MN Sports Headlines for Friday, Jan. 27th:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will go for their

second straight win tonight when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

The Wolves are coming off a 105-90 victory over the Dallas

Mavericks, and have already beaten the Spurs at home this season.

All-Star forward Kevin Love enters the game with an NBA-high 17

double-doubles in 18 games.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Lynx have re-signed center

Jessica Adair. The team announced the deal yesterday, but didn't

disclose the terms. Adair appeared in 31 regular-season games

during Minnesota's championship run last year, averaging 4.3 points

and 2.9 rebounds a game.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minneapolis City Council is not sold

on the Metrodome site for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium. The Star

Tribune reports a majority of the council oppose Mayor R.T. Rybak's

stadium funding plan unless there's a citywide vote on the issue.

Rybak says he doesn't believe council opposition is firm.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota State offensive tackle Paul

Cornick has been invited to the NFL combine. The Orono, Minn.,

native will take part in the workouts next month at Lucas Oil

Stadium in Indianapolis. Cornick was also invited to play in the

2012 Players All-Star Classic.
