In a move designed to save thousands of tax dollars, two southern Minnesota school districts are looking at four-day school weeks. The districts in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye hold public hearings tonight to
discuss Tuesday through Friday school weeks which officials say could save between 80-thousand and 100-thousand dollars a year on utilities, bus service, staffing and other expenses. Some parents though are concerned about child care issues and possible student fatigue brought on by a longer school day.
Sleepy Eye will have a public meeting tonight at 6 PM and again on Monday, January 30th at 6 PM.
