The Tracy Area School Board on Monday night voted unanimously in favor of purchasing the Tracy Kid's World child care and preschool building.
Buying the building could provide space for preschool classes. Kid's World would be able to stay in the facility, renting space from the school district. The decision could mean some stability for Kid's World, which had been facing the possibility of foreclosure for being unable to make mortgage payments to USDA Rural Development for the building.
At Monday's meeting, Tracy Superintendent Loy Woelber said the purchase price being offered for the building had been lowered to $90,000.
Buying the building would also make the school district responsible for more than $50,000 in unpaid property taxes on the building, and more than $25,000 in taxes due this year.
