Magdalene Schnackenberg, age 100, of Echo, passed away January 18,
2012, at her home in Posen twsp. Services will be held Monday, January 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in
Posen twsp., Wood Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the
service Monday, January 23, 2012 at the church. Sunset Funeral and
Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso are in charge of the
arrangements.
Magdalene Margaretha Schnackenberg was born on September 17, 1911 in
Posen Township to George and Elizabeth (Bobsin) Schnackenberg. She
was baptized at her home in Posen Township on September 17, 1911 by
Pastor Laux. She was confirmed on March 28, 1926 by Pastor Scheitel at
Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. Magdalene was a member of St. Luke’s
Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, playing cards
and visiting with family and friends.
Magdalene Schnackenberg passed away in her home on January 18, 2012
attaining the age of 100 years, 4 months and one day. She is survived
by her sisters, LaVerna Schrader of Echo and Mabel Hoepner of Granite
Falls. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Burton (Carroll)
Kuehn of Belview, Jane (Tom) Garvin of Echo, Roger (JoAnn) Kuehn of
Bemidji, John (Audrey) Schrader of Echo, Becky (Gary) Remmele of Dodge
Center, Marjorie (Dale) Luepke of Granite Falls, Betty (Gale) Running
of Burnsville and Jim (Carey) Hoepner of Echo along with great nieces
and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death
are her parents and her sister Elvira Kuehn and a great nephew.
