The man accused of stabbing a co-worker 30 times outside a Pizza Ranch in Montevideo Friday night makes his first court appearance at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Montevideo this morning.. The 24-year-old suspect is accused of stabbing 18-year-old Vinessa Lozano of Montevideo in the parking lot. Police Chief Adam Christopher says another worker called for help and when officers arrived, Lozano was lying on the ground and the suspect was standing over her with a knife. She later died at a local hospital. A preliminary investigation shows the suspect may have become angry when Lozano rejected his romantic advances. A memorial fund has been set up for Lozano at the Coop Credit Union in Montevideo. She leaves behind a fiancee and 18-month-old son.
