The mercury hit record-high territory on Monday in someplaces and matched the record in others, like the Twin Cities -- which tied its previous record of 49 degrees. St. Cloud broke a high-temperature record Monday with 49 -- two degrees warmer than the old record set way back in
1902. More records could fall today, but National Weather Service forecaster Jim Taggart says much colder weather moves in Wednesday. Temperatures will moderate by the weekend with daytime readings in the 30's -- which is about average for this time of year.
