Viola E. Seidl, 93, of Sleepy Eye died on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye, MN. Visitation will be at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 7:30 to 10:00 AM. There will be a parish prayer service Wednesday at 7pm at the funeral home. Service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Sleepy Eye on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10:30 AM

The Clergy will be Msgr. Eugene Lozinski & Msgr. John Richter

Interment St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery

Viola Elizabeth Seidl was born on October 20, 1918 in Springfield, MN, the daughter of John & Mary (Helget) Sturm. She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield. She attended St. Raphael's School and after her schooling she helped her parents on the farm. Viola married Norbert Seidl on September 9, 1940. The couple made their home and farmed in the Sleepy Eye area. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. Viola enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, decorating her home, church activities and volunteering at the nursing home playing piano. She loved her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne (Lloyd) Braun of Sleepy Eye, Shirley (Tom) Kuck of New Ulm, daughter-in-law, Jan Seidl of Apple Valley, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, brother, Norbert (Bernice) Sturm of Springfield and sister-in-law, Leona Seidl of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norbert in 2002, son Martin in 1985, brother Lloyd (Mary Ann) Sturm, sisters-in-law, Laura (Edmund) Schroepfer, Minnie (Leo) Schroepfer, Clara (Art) Portner, Fronie (Charles) Portner, Louise (Harold) Tastel, Evelyn (Alvin) Sturm, brother-in-law, Leonard Seidl and special friend Loretta Kral.
