MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Jan. 3rd:


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Kevin Love had 24 points and 15 rebounds last

night in the Minnesota Timberwolves' 106-96 victory over the San

Antonio Spurs. Luke Ridnour added 19 points for the Wolves, who

picked up their second straight win. The Spurs lost guard Manu

Ginobili to a broken hand in the second quarter.

 


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings have expressed

confidence in 2012 after their 3-13 record this season matched the

worst in the franchise history. The Vikings are counting on having

Adrian Peterson ready for next season after reconstructive knee

surgery. The team will also consider big changes on offense and

defense.

 


ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (AP) - A Twin Cities high school hockey

player who suffered a spinal injury in a game is scheduled for

surgery this week. The Star Tribune reports Dr. Tina Slusher says

Jack Jablonski has gained a bit of movement following Friday's

injury at the St. Louis Park Recreation Center. But Slusher says

it's too soon to tell if Jablonski will regain full control of his

limbs.

 


PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - No. 6 Oregon powered past No. 8

Wisconsin 45-38 last night in the highest-scoring Rose Bowl ever

played. Darron Thomas passed for 268 yards and three touchdowns as

the Ducks earned their first bowl win under coach Chip Kelly. The

game ended when the Badgers were unable to spike the ball in time

to stop the clock for one final play.
