Salvation Army collection in Redwood County breaks record!

The ringing bells around the red kettles this year brought in a record amount in Redwood County.

The Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign in
RedwoodCounty ran from November 18th to Christmas Eve and collected $27,109.71!!

The previous record amount was collected in 2010 and totaled $21,032.47.

Roald Haugen, coordinator for the RedwoodCounty campaign credits some larger donations in the $200 to $1,000 range, volunteer bell ringers on duty most hours and milder weather.

The Redwood County Salvation Army is thanking all those who donated, those who gave so generously, the bell ringers, businesses that allowed the red kettles and churches who helped find volunteers.

Of note is the St. Catherine’s Catholic Church who provided bell ringers for 4 full days and the Buckley family members who filled over a dozen of the 2 hour time slots to ring the bell.

The money collected stays local to assist people in need.
