NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Drew Brees set a single-season

passing record and the New Orleans Saints clinched the NFC South

title by blasting the Atlanta Falcons 45-16. Brees finished the

night with 5,087 yards for the year, breaking Dan Marino's NFL

year.

IRVING, Texas (AP) - Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo could

be ready to practice Wednesday and should be able to play in

Sunday's regular-season finale against the New York Giants. The

Peterson is expected to be ready for the start of the 2012 NFL

after signing a seven-year, $100 million contract extension before

the opener.

DALLAS (AP) - The defending NBA champions are 0-2 following

another horrendous first half. The Dallas Mavericks gave up 20

27 points by intermission to help the Nuggets forge a 69-42

halftime lead.

Missouri in a 41-24 rout of North Carolina. Quarterback James

Franklin led the Tigers' offense, running for 142 yards and two
