MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Dec. 27th:


ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Jan Hjeda's go-ahead goal about halfway

through the third period helped the Colorado Avalanche beat the

Minnesota Wild 4-2 last night. The Avs won on the road for the

first time since late October and extended the Wild's losing streak

to seven games. Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Cal Clutterbuck scored for

the Wild.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Kevin Durant scored 33 points last night to

lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 104-100 win over the Minnesota

Timberwolves. Russell Westbrook added 28 points and James Harden

put up 16 for the Thunder. Timberwolves All-Star forward Kevin Love

finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman will miss the

team's game tonight at Milwaukee to attend funeral services for his

mother-in-law. Minnesota made the announcement following tonight's

loss to Oklahoma City. Assistant coach Terry Porter will serve as

coach for the game.

 


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings expect running

back Adrian Peterson to be recovered from knee surgery in time to

start the 2012 season. Peterson tore the ACL and MCL in his left

knee against Washington on Saturday. Vikings head trainer Eric

Sugarman has set an eight-to-nine month recovery for Peterson.
