EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - The Edmonton Oilers snapped a four-game

losing streak by beating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 last night. Jordan

Eberle scored twice, with Ryan Smyth and Lennart Petrell also

adding goals for the Oilers. Dany Heatley lit the lamp for the

Wild, who have now lost six games in a row.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Ralph Sampson III scored 15 points last night

to help Minnesota beat North Dakota State 63-59. Rodney Williams

had 14 points and Maverick Ahanmisi added 13 for the Golden

Gophers. Taylor Braun and Dylan Hale each scored 13 points for the

Bison.

 


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings offensive

coordinator Bill Musgrave has had a rough first season on the job.

The 2-12 Vikings rank 28th in the NFL in passing offense, and

Musgrave has come under fire from fans for his play calling. Coach

Leslie Frazier says he believes that will a full offseason,

Musgrave's system can be a success in Minnesota.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Pitcher Jason Marquis has agreed to a

one-year, $3 million deal with the Minnesota Twins. The 33-year-old

went 8-5 with a 3.95 ERA for the Washington Nationals last season

before being traded to Arizona. Marquis will likely be relied upon

as a fourth or fifth starter in Minnesota.
