SAN DIEGO (AP) - The San Diego Chargers kept their postseason

hopes alive by dismantling the playoff-bound Baltimore Ravens 34-14

last night. The Chargers improved to 7-7 in the AFC West while the

10-4 Ravens fell a half-game back of Pittsburgh in the AFC North

with both those teams already assured of making the playoffs.

 


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - There will be no perfect season for the

Green Bay Packers. Recently acquired Kyle Orton threw for 299 yards

and the Kansas City Chiefs rallied behind interim coach Romeo

Crennel for a shocking 19-14 victory that ended the

Packers' 19-game winning streak.

 


INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Colts have earned their

first victory in 14 years without Peyton Manning at the helm. The

Colts became the last NFL team to hit the victory column with a

27-13 victory over playoff hopeful Tennessee and said afterward

that Manning, their four-time league MVP, will not play this

season.

 


DENVER (AP) - Tebow Time got set back in Denver

yesterday. The New England Patriots ended the Broncos' six-game win

streak with Tim Tebow at the helm by rallying from a

16-7 deficit to beat Denver 41-23 and clinched the AFC East title.

 


WACO, Texas (AP) - Baylor, the top-ranked team in women's

college basketball, rallied from an 11-point deficit in the second

half to beat second-ranked Connecticut 66-61 in a battle of

unbeatens. Brittany Griner led the way with 25 points, nine

rebounds and nine blocked shots.
