TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The lone NFL game of the day has the Tampa

Bay Buccaneers hosting the Dallas Cowboys, who will try to take a

half-game lead in the NFC East. The Cowboys and New York Giants are

tied for first at 7-6, but the Giants hold the tiebreaker after

winning at Dallas last Sunday night. The Bucs are riding a

seven-game losing streak that leaves them 4-9.

 


UNDATED (AP) - The college football bowl schedule opens with

three games today. The New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque has Wyoming

playing Temple, while the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in Boise, Idaho,

features Ohio University and Utah State. The lone night game is in

New Orleans and has San Diego State playing Louisiana-Lafayette in

the New Orleans Bowl.

 


UNDATED (AP) - Today's top-25 men's basketball schedule includes

No. 1 Syracuse visiting North Carolina State. In games this

afternoon involving top-10 schools, second-ranked Ohio State is at

South Carolina, Fourth-ranked Louisville has a home game with

Memphis and No. 6 Baylor is at BYU.

 


UNDATED (AP) - Just one of today's men's college basketball

games features of matchup of ranked teams. No. 13 Florida will tip

off against No. 22 Texas Tech in Sunrise, Florida.

 


UNDATED (AP) - A matinee affair is taking place in the NHL with

the contest between the Flyers and Bruins being played in

Philadelphia. The Flyers head the Eastern Conference with 43

points, two more than the Bruins. Philly also paces the Atlantic

Division by five points over the New York Rangers and Pittsburgh,

and the Bruins are six points clear of second-place Toronto in the

Northeast Division.
