The American Legion Post of Olivia recently presented the Olivia Fire and Rescue Department a check for $500.00 for the purchase of equipment for the department. The funds are the result of Burger Basket Nights held at the Legion. The donation was presented by Legion Commander Bill Miller and Finance Officer Ron Kopacek. Miller noted that our community is very proud of the members of the Olivia Fire and Rescue Department and this is our way of showing our appreciation to them. The Legion has also been assisted by members of the VFW Post in Olivia with Burger Basket nights.
During 2011 the post has presented funds in the amount of $4169.53 to BOLD School for athletic programs and also to the BOLD Music Department.

January will see the Burger Basket Night for BOLD wrestling, which is scheduled for Friday January 13th.
