Natl. Sports Headlines for Monday, Dec. 5th:

UNDATED (AP) - It will be LSU taking on Alabama for the BCS

championship after the Crimson Tide nosed out Oklahoma State for

the second spot in the latest standings. Alabama finished second in

both the Harris and coaches' polls by a wide enough margin to make

up for the fact that Oklahoma State was ahead in the computer

ratings. That sets up a rematch of two schools that met November 5

in Tuscaloosa, where the Tigers beat the Tide 9-6 in overtime.

UNDATED (AP) - Oklahoma State is slated to take on Stanford in

the Fiesta Bowl after the Cowboys failed to reach the BCS title

game. Oregon will battle Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, Clemson will

take on West Virginia in the Orange Bowl and Michigan goes against

Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - Mason Crosby's 30-yard field goal

as time expired lifted Green Bay over the New York Giants 38-25

yesterday, keeping the Packers' hopes alive for a perfect season.

Aaron Rodgers led the Packers on a 68-yard scoring drive right

after the Giants knotted the score on Eli Manning's touchdown pass

to Hakeem Nicks and a two-point conversion with 58 seconds left.

Rodgers passed for 369 yards and four touchdowns, two to Donald

Driver.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The San Francisco 49ers are NFC West

champions for the first time in nine years following a 26-0 shutout

of the St. Louis Rams. Alex Smith tossed a pair of long touchdown

passes in the second half, David Akers drilled four field goals and

Frank Gore had 73 rushing yards to become the Niners' all-time

leader.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Tim Tebow passed for a season-best

202 yards and two third-quarter touchdowns to help the Denver

Broncos win their fifth straight game, 35-32 at Minnesota. Matt

Broncos improved to 7-5, tying them with Oakland for the AFC West

lead.
