EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - The eighth-ranked Oregon Ducks are champions

of the first-ever Pac-12 championship game. LaMichael James ran 25

times for 219 yards and three touchdowns in the Ducks' 49-31

thrashing of UCLA in Rick Neuheisel's final game as

Bruins coach after four seasons.

 


SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - In college basketball, fourth-ranked

Syracuse remained unbeaten with a 72-68 win over No. 10 Florida and

afterward coach Jim Boeheim apologized for questioning

the motives of the men who accused his longtime assistant Bernie

Fine of molesting them as minors. An emotional Boeheim said he

"misspoke very badly" in his initial comments and is "really

sorry" for those comments.

 


COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State will be without forward Jared

Sullinger when the No. 2 Buckeyes face Texas-Pan American today in

Columbus. Ohio State says the sophomore will not play after

suffering back spasms during an 85-63 victory over third-ranked

Duke in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge last Tuesday.

 


SEVILLE, Spain (AP) -Spain has raced to a 2-0 lead in the

best-of-five Davis Cup final against Argentina. Rafael Nadal

and David Ferrer both won

singles matches Friday to jump-start the Spaniards.

 


NEW YORK (AP) - Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh

has had his appeal of his two-game

suspension for stomping a Green Bay player on Thanksgiving Day

denied by the NFL.Suh will miss Sunday's game at New Orleans and a

Dec. 11 home game against Minnesota.
