MN Sports Headlines for Wednesday, Nov. 23rd:


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota Vikings cornerback Chris Cook plans

to claim self-defense in an alleged attack on his girlfriend. Cook

is accused of attacking the woman last month after she spoke to an

ex-boyfriend. Cook has been reinstated by the Vikings after a

two-week suspension, but he isn't playing or practicing with the

team.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Vikings left guard Steve Hutchinson hosted an

early Thanksgiving meal at the University of Minnesota children's

hospital for the sixth straight year. About ten of Hutchinson's

teammates joined him yesterday at the event. Hutchinson says his

community work helps put a tough season in perspective.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - With his career at Minnesota coming to an

end, Da'Jon McKnight has come a long way. McKnight flourished last

season behind Eric Decker and says he's proud of the hard work he's

put in this season with a new offense to learn. McKnight is the

Gophers' seventh-leading receiver in program history with 1,847

yards.

 


NEW YORK (AP) - Union executive director Billy Hunter says he

expects a Minnesota magistrate judge to mediate the players'

lawsuit against the NBA. Hunter yesterday specifically mentioned

Judge Arthur Boylan, the court-appointed mediator in the NFL talks.

Different groups of players filed separate lawsuits in Minnesota

and California last week.
