Serious fall in Renville County



On November 21, 2011, at approximately 9:23 AM, the Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a serious fall that had occurred on a farm site in the 75000 block of 350th St, Olivia, which is located approximately four miles south of Olivia, MN in Norfolk Township.

Investigation at the scene determined that a 25 year-old male had been working on top of a newly constructed building and fell through an open section of roof. It is estimated that the victim fell approximately thirty (30) feet and landed on concrete. The victim was flown by North Memorial Air Care from the scene to the Avera-Mckennan Hospital-University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD with serious injuries.

Agencies responding to the incident included the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Olivia Ambulance , and North Memorial Air Care.

The incident is being investigated by the Renville County Sheriff’s Office.
