Gerald Moll, 85 of Apache Junction, AZ and formerly of Springfield, MN died on Monday, November 14, 2011.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Visitation will be for 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Sanborn, MN.

Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield, MN.

Gerald Edward Moll was born November 13, 1926 in Germantown Township, Cottonwood County, MN. He was a son of Carrie and James Moll.

Gerald was baptized on Feb., 1927. Graduated from Sanborn High School, June 1944. Gerald entered active military U.S. Navy in August 1944 Signalman Third Class and was honorably discharged June 1946.

Gerald was united in marriage to Margaret Becker in Sanborn at Zion Lutheran Church. Margaret later passed away in 1980. Gerald owned the Mobile Garage and Gas Station in Sanborn and drove the Minneapolis Star & Tribune route, six nights a week from Springfield to Sioux Falls, SD for many years.



Gerald and Margaret had two children James and Nadene. He was a member of the Sanborn Legion for 67 years. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards.



In 1982, Gerald married Shirley Kranz Schwerzler of Morgan, MN. They lived in Springfield and later moved to Apache Junction, AZ.



Gerald is survived by his wife, Shirley. His children, Jim and wife, Cathy Moll of Milwaukee WI. Nadene Moll of Sanborn MN. Grandchildren, Andrew, Meghan and Elizabeth and great grand children, Dylan and Devyn Moll of Milwaukee, WI. Stepchildren, Barbara and husband, Robert King of Apache Junction, AZ and Thomas and wife Arlene Schwerzler of Winona MN. Great grandchildren, Kim Bluhm and her children, Quincy and Tonnea. Sister Elaine Henry of Willmar MN, nieces and nephews and other relatives.



He is preceded in death by first wife, Margaret, his parents, sisters Norma Zimmerman and Eva Holmbecht.
