Olivia man sentenced for stabbing



A 48 year old Olivia man will serve 180 days in jail and have 15 months in prison stayed for charges filed against him from a stabbing incident.

There were 2 different assault charges that William Thomas Lewis appeared in court on late last week.

The first incident was on July 1st, when an Olivia and Bird Island law enforcement officer arrived to find Lewis covered in blood at a Henton Avenue address. He also handed over a knife and admitted to using it in the stabbing of his 19 year old son. The victim suffered abdominal wounds that required emergency surgery at Hennepin County Medical Center.

And on another occassion Lewis was accussed of hitting a woman in the face-knocking a tooth out.

William Thomas Lewis was also ordered to pay a $700 fine, 5 years of probation and must attend an alcohol treatment program
