MN Sports Headlines for Monday, Nov. 7th:


SAN DIEGO (AP) - Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes

yesterday to lead the Green Bay Packers to a 45-38 win over the San

Diego Chargers. Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson, James Jones and

Jermichael Finley each caught scores for the Packers. Green Bay

also returned two Philip Rivers' interceptions for touchdowns.

 


CHICAGO (AP) - Vancouver converted five of six power plays last

night as the Canucks topped the Chicago Blackhawks 6-2. Michael

Frolik and Marcus Kruger scored for the Blackhawks, who went

0-for-5 on the power plays. Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo stopped

38 shots and Chicago's Corey Crawford made 32 saves.

 


ST. LOUIS (AP) - The St. Louis Blues have fired coach Davis

Payne after a disappointing 6-7 start. The team has also hired

50-year-old Ken Hitchcock to a contract that runs through next

season. The Blues will hold a press conference this morning, and

Hitchcock will be on the bench for practice in the afternoon.

 


STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State athletic director Tim

Curley and administrator Gary Schultz have stepped down amid

allegations of a child-sex abuse scandal. The two face perjury

charges after a grand jury investigation of former Nittany Lions

defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. He's been charged with

sexually abusing eight boys over 15 years.
