We know its dry out…but how dry?
Most parts of our listening area are missing about 5 to 7 inches of precipitation on average.
From July to the end of October the National Drought Mitigation Center is reporting that 19 percent of the state is in a severe drought. The area includes all of Redwood County, and majority of Renville and Brown County. The severe drought areas also includes portions of Yellow Medicine County.
Lake levels reportedly are also now below average after high water and flooding that lasted well into the summer.
