MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Nov. 1st:


EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Vikings are discussing the future

of suspended cornerback Chris Cook. Coach Leslie Frazier says he's

meeting with team officials to "see which direction we're going to

be heading" with Cook. Cook was charged last week for allegedly

trying to strangle his girlfriend.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota kicker Jordan Wettstein has been

named the Big Ten's Special Teams Player of the Week. Wettstein

attempted his first college kicks over the weekend against Iowa.

The junior made an extra point, kicked a field goal and

successfully executed an onside kick for the Gophers.

 


MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have claimed two pitched

off waivers. The Twins claimed left-hander Matt Maloney from the

Cincinnati Reds and right-hander Jeff Gray from the Seattle

Mariners. Both are expected to add depth to the pitching staff.

 


ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Wild have reassigned rookie

Brett Bulmer to his junior club. Bulmer made his NHL debut with the

Wild last month and registered three assists in nine games. The

19-year-old was sent to the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey

League.
