Janet J. Kirschstein, 58, of Minneapolis, formerly of Sleepy Eye, MN died on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Friends may call on the family at the Sturm Funeral Home on Friday from 10 to 11 AM. Memorial service will be held at Sturm Funeral Home, Sleepy Eye, MN on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Janet Joan Kirschstein was born on March 3, 1953 in Sleepy Eye, Mn the daughter of Henry & Irene Alice (Cook) Kirschstein. She grew up on a small hobby farm South of Sleepy Eye. Janet graduated from Sleepy Eye high School in 1971 and worked for a short time at the city office in Sleepy Eye. She was in a car accident in 1971 which left her a quadriplegic. She stayed at the Sleepy Eye Care Center for a while and later moved to a handicapped living apartment building in Minneapolis. Janet loved company and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, reading and movies. She also enjoyed watching her fish and being outdoors.
Survivors include her siblings, LaVonne (Dick) Stadick of Glenwood, Virginia Bartlett of Hudson, WI, Delores Zulhsdorf of Sleepy Eye and Wallace Kirschstein of Morgan, 16 nieces and nephews and 6 great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
She will be dearly missed by all.
