MN Sports Headlines for Saturday, Oct. 29th:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Iowa stepped in TCF Bank Stadium last

November and lost to a Minnesota team determined to finish a dismal

season in strong fashion. The Hawkeyes (5-2, 2-1) are coming back

today, looking to avenge the loss and reclaim the Floyd of Rosedale

trophy. The Gophers (1-6, 0-3 Big Ten) have lost their first three

Big Ten games in coach Jerry Kill's first season by an average

margin of 38 points.

DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - Jack Connolly had a goal and two assists to

help Minnesota Duluth beat Bemidji State 6-2 in a Western

Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday. Connolly was one of

10 players to score points for the Bulldogs (3-3-1, 1-2-0), who

picked up their first WCHA win of the season. Bemidji State (3-4-0,

2-3-0) scored the first two goals of the game.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton and GOP

legislative leaders say they haven't reached any breakthrough

moments as they discuss how to pay for a proposed Minnesota Vikings

stadium. The governor and top lawmakers emerged from a more than

two-hour meeting yesterday agreeing they would keep talking about

different financing options and stadium locations. Minneapolis and

the Ramsey County suburb of Arden Hills are all in the mix.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Receiver Percy Harvin and cornerback

Antoine Winfield are listed as questionable for the Minnesota

Vikings game against Carolina tomorrow. Harvin has a rib injury

that has bothered him for most of the season. Winfield has missed

three straight games with a neck injury.
