MN Sports Headlines for Wednesday, Oct. 26th:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings have waived receiver

Bernard Berrian. The move came after Berrian was on the inactive

list last Sunday against Green Bay for the second time in three

games. Rookie wideout Stephen Burton was promoted from the practice

squad to take Berrian's place on the roster.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Vikings cornerback Chris Cook has been

suspended indefinitely following a felony charge for allegedly

strangling his girlfriend. The team issued a statement yesterday

calling the allegations "very disturbing and disappointing." Cook

was charged yesterday with domestic assault and has a court

appearance set for this afternoon.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Twins have declined the club

option on closer Joe Nathan worth $12.5 million. Twins general

manager Bill Smith says the team is interested in re-signing

Nathan. The right-hander will receive a $2 million buyout because

the option was declined.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minnesota coach Jerry Kill has finalized a

seven-year contract with the school. Kill had been working since

his hire last December under the terms of a five-year agreement.

The Gophers are 1-6 in Kill's first season on the sideline.
