Canby teen in farm accident



A teenager from rural Canby was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a farm accident reported Saturday, the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office said.
The Sheriff's Office and the Canby Fire Department responded to a report of an accident involving a grain trailer at about 6:29 p.m.
Witnesses said 16-year-old Alexander Brouwer of rural Canby fell into a grain trailer and was surrounded by corn, a release from the Sheriff's Office said. A deputy assisted two individuals in administering CPR to the teen, the Sheriff's Office said.
Brouwer was transported to Sanford Canby Hospital and airlifted to Sioux Falls, S.D.
The incident is under investigation, the Sheriff's Office said. Hospital officials had reported that Brouwer was in serious condition.
