MN Sports Headlines for Tuesday, Oct. 25th:

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings wide receiver

Bernard Berrian met with Leslie Frazier yesterday and says he will

talk with the coach again today. Berrian has been on the inactive

list twice in the last three weeks. He says his willingness to take

a pay cut for this season is proof he wants to stay with the team

but he acknowledges he has "no idea" whether he'll be kept

around.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Vikings coach Leslie Frazier says

shoring up the run defense is a point of emphasis as they prepare

to play the Carolina Panthers. The Vikings ranked No. 1 in the

league for three straight years from 2006 through 2008 and ranked

second in 2009. But they faltered in stopping the run during key

situations in the loss to Green Bay on Sunday.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - City officials say a new Vikings stadium

could be built more cheaply in Minneapolis than in the suburbs.

Mayor R.T. Rybak met with Governor Mark Dayton yesterday and said

after the meeting that the most realistic way to pay for a new

stadium is with a citywide sales tax increase. He says the increase

could also help pay for Target Center improvements.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Wayzata has moved to the top of the Minnesota

Class 5A football rankings after knocking off previously top-ranked

Eden Prairie. Eden Prairie falls to fourth in this week's poll. The

other top-ranked teams are: Mankato West in 4A, St. Croix Lutheran

in 3A, Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in 2A and New Ulm Cathedral in

1A. Ellsworth tops the 9-man rankings.
